BUILDING UPDATE: MAH Practice Studio Reopening!
After being shut down for much of 2020 due to COVID-19, MAH practice rooms and rehearsal studios have begun gradual reopening. The safety of members, students, staff, and building tenants will remain a priority for as long as COVID remains a threat in our community. The MAH Reopening Committee is constantly monitoring conditions and adjusting studio use protocols accordingly.
Current Status:
Studios 2 & 6 are available, by reservation only, for individual practice and teaching, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., allowing for a buffer time between studio use.
Teachers and students must complete check-in procedure and Studio Use Agreement forms, which will be sent to them when making the reservation. Students and parents will have to wait downstairs in their cars, as waiting is not allowed in the upstairs building common areas. Masks are still required in the building for tenants and members, except when in the studios. Six-foot distancing is also required.
Group rehearsals are allowed in Studio 6. Maximum allowed is five people, to allow for proper safety distancing.
Studio 909 is available for rehearsals and performances on a case-by-case basis. More participants are allowed in Studio 909, due to the larger floor area and air space.
Please contact the office for all reservation requests: members@musicianshawaii.com, or ph. 808-596-2121.
Note: an HVAC UV/Hydro Ionization System has been installed in all of the MAH buildings’ AC air handlers.
The ultra-violet light disinfects air passing through the units and the Hydro Ionization System creates hydro-peroxides and emits them into the air to further cleanse the air and surfaces the air comes into contact with. This adds another layer of safety and will improve air quality, post-COVID, as well.
